I am looking for a song that was played alot in the middle 70's. It is a letter home from a soldier to his mother. He writes to her like he talking about a friend who was injured in the war and wants to bring him home with him. But in reality, it is him who was injured. He lost a leg and I think an arm. The song starts out with the friend only hurt...his mom says "yes". As the song progresses he tells her of all the injuries to the soldier. She finally tells him "no, because they don't have the time to give him"
