Just a few minutes ago I stumbled across this song while I was going through my lyrics collection. That prompted me to try if I could find the chords on the internet, and I finally founds your message on the Hank Locklin site. If it`s of any help, here are the lyrics as far as could extract them from a worn-out recording I made many, many years ago, most likely from the US-radio station AFN in Germany. There's gotta be a number of mistakes, especially in the names and I'd be thankful for any corrections. Also, if anybody who reads this, knows the chords, I'd be grateful for a hint. I just hope you like it anyway. Lothar from Germany. =========================================== The Country Hall Of Fame (Hank Locklin) 1. I was roaming 'round in Nashville in the State of Tennessee, For I love that Country Music, it's as soulful as can be. I have gathered their records, for I cherish ev'ry name, So I found myself a- standing in the Country Hall Of Fame. 2. My heart beat somewhat faster, as I walked in through the door, For I heard the sound of voices, I had often heard before. A happy kind of sadness brought a teardrop to my eye. Now IŽll tell you, what I saw there, and I'm sure, that you'll see why. 3. Jimmy Rodgers, Railroad Leonard and his faithful old guitar, I could here that old Blue Jodel comimg from somewhere afar. Roy Acuff in brown slideners with the great Fred Rose, his friend, And I heard that Wabash Cannon Ball somewhere around the Bend. 4. The guitar of Eddy Arnold, memories of Cattle Call Chet Atkins will be with him, when the work's all done this fall. From the yard of Howard Maybelle Wildwood Flowers seem to ree, Valley Pucket and Gid Tanner, how they all could pick and see. 5. I could hear George Hay announcing, as I stood there in the room, I could hear Tex Ritter singing his classic song High Noon, Minnie Pearl, so glad to be there, and Hank Snow keeps Moving On. May the Lord bless those stil lliving and the ones who join his throne. 6. Cowboy Kokers, Hopshaw Hawkins, Gentleman Jim and Patsy Cline, Rod Bradsfield, Arvil Loofin, these stars will always shine. Ernest Tubb, the great Red Foley and Hank Williams, bless his name, Though some are gone they'll live forever in the Country Hall Of Fame.
