Dear Hank,
Belated Happy Birthday! I hope it was a happy one.
I was visiting at the time of your birthday and wasn't
able to send a message until today.
You have been a favorite of mine since 63' when I
first heard you sing on WEXL in Royal Oak Michigan. I
go to karaoke with my friend. He sings just like
Sinatra. We have a great time doiing what we do. I will
be 69 in August and my friend will be 72 in May.
I saw TALK BACK TREMBLING LIPS in the karaoke book &
asked the host to play it to see if it was the one I
knew. It was! The host started singing it but didn't
know the tune. He put the mike to my face and told me
to sing it for him. I did and that was the first time
I had ever sang at a karaoke. Now TALK BACK is my
biggest song. Lately, I have been singing SEND ME THE
PILLOW and PLEASE HELP ME I'M FALLING and the people
really love those two songs.
My friend and I both play the spoons together and
also sing a lot of HANK WILLIAMS songs as duets.
We just got a computer lately, so I wanted to let you
know I saw the "Pillow" when you were on the Opry.
Take care and keep up the good work! I just love
country music. Being from Kentucky, my love for country
music never died, even though I've been in Michigan
